2004 Ulster Inter County 9-Ball Team Cup Champions
Derry 9-ball pool players retained there Ulster
team cup at the weekend passed when they defeated Donegal
in the final.
The tournament took place in Downey’s pool hall on Sunday
and which seen players represent there county, in this fast
up and coming team event.
The Derry lads went throughout the day undefeated winning
three matches and drawn there other in the group fixtures
played in the round robin format.
While Derry made there way into the final, it was heating
up to see who would claim the second spot to play Derry again
in the final on the knockout format.
Donegal was beaten by Antrim in there last match, so if Tyrone
beat Dublin in there last match it would mean Tyrone would
progress to the final. This was not to be as the Dublin players
held Tyrone to draw which seen Donegal get into there first
team final on Ireland’s 9-Ball Pool Tour.
The final got under way with Derry taking the honour as been
the favourites with the bookies, and that’s what the did as
they ran out winners for the second year running to be crowned
2004 Inter-County Ulster Team Champions.
