Dempsey  Claims  Second  Pro-Tour  Victory

Sunday 26th April 2009 seen Stephen Dempsey (Cavan) won his second 8Ball Pro-Tour Event which is organised by Ireland’s Pub Players 8Ball Pool Tour when the former European champion defeated N. Ireland’s top professional pool player Ronan McCarthy in the final on a 8-4 score-line playing outstanding pool to claim the title and the £500 winners cheque....…….

Their has been five £1,000 events (£5,000 total prize-money) in this Pro-Tour series set-up involving 16 players with Stephen now claiming back to back victories winning the first two events with the first event held in Co. Donegal and the second staged in Newry Co. Down, with the Co. Cavan cueist also extending his lead at the top of the Pro-Tour ranking list......

Monaghan Open 8Ball Championship title to his Co. Donegal Open 8Ball Championship victory back in January...……..

Ronan was in tremendous form throughout the day but had to fight all the way in afew of his matches including his semi-finals match coming out on top winning the last frame decider to get over the line with a 5-4 victory over Sean Hoey who also played great pool throughout the tournament to reach the semi-finals..……..
